<img src="https://i.ibb.co/nzCXdpW/20200607-163458668-ios.jpg"> Yda the German Shepherd dog found herself alone in the house. This was unusual in that, typically, there was always one human home with her at any given time. To be honest, this situation was rather distressing. Where were her humans? Would they ever return? Had they abandoned her? Were they hurt? Just a few questions that ran through her mind as she lay depressed on the couch. Currently, there was nothing she could do to answer these questions, as she was locked in the house. Perhaps there was a way to change that. What should Yda do? [[Continue waiting]] [[Find a way out]]Yda sighed, and lay waiting for what felt like *ages*. Eventually, she decided enough was enough, and it was time to do something about this. [[Find a way out]]Yda jumped down from the couch. Currently, she was in the living room. There was a doorway that lead to the kitchen, and an open closet. [[Go to Kitchen]] [[Go to Closet]]Yda walked into the kitchen. In here was the front door, and a window that was slightly ajar. [[Try the Door]] [[Try the Window]] [[Go back to Living Room]]Yda walked to the closet. Inside, she found a broom. [[Grab the Broom]] [[Go back to Living Room]] The door is locked. [[Go back|Go to Kitchen]] The window is not open enough to get through. [[Go back|Go to Kitchen]] Yda walked back to the living room. There was a doorway that lead to the kitchen, and an open closet. [[Go to Kitchen]] [[Go to Closet]] Yda grabbed the broom between her teeth. It was tricky, but she managed to pull it out of the closet. [[Go back to Living Room|Go back to Living Room 2]]Yda walked back to the living room. There was a doorway that lead to the kitchen, and an open closet. [[Go to Kitchen|Go to Kitchen 2]] [[Go to Closet|Go to Closet 2]]Yda walked into the kitchen. In here was the front door, and a window that was slightly ajar. [[Try the Door|Try the Door2]] [[Try the Window|Try the Window2]] [[Go back to Living Room|Go back to Living Room 2]] Yda walked to the closet. There is nothing of value here. [[Go back to Living Room|Go back to Living Room 2]] The door is locked. [[Go back|Go to Kitchen 2]] The window is not open enough to get through. [[Pry Window open with Broom]] [[Go back|Go to Kitchen 2]] Yda brought the broom over, and lodged it under the window. She pushed on the end of the broom as leverage, and managed to push the window open enough to fit. [[Go Outside]]Yda squeezed through the window, which was on the first floor, and dropped down onto the grass below. She looked around, and saw no indication of her humans anywhere. The driveway was missing a car. Where could they have gone? [[Walk to edge of street]]Yda walked to the edge of the street, in front of her house. [[Go right]] [[Go left]] [[Look around]]Yda turned right and started to follow the sidewalk down the road. After a while, she realized she had no idea where she was going. [[Go back|Walk to edge of street]] Yda turned left and started to follow the sidewalk down the road. After a while, she realized she had no idea where she was going. [[Go back|Walk to edge of street]] Yda glanced down at the street, and saw what appeared to be a trail of drip marks curving out from the driveway. She recalled that the missing car had a drippage problem. The trail went left. [[Go left|Go left2]]Yda turned left and started to follow the sidewalk down the road. She had been this way a few times on walks with her humans. She walked for a long time. Eventually, she came across a fork in the road. [[Go left|Go left3]] [[Go right|Go right2]]Yda took the road that went left. She walked for a ways, and eventually came upon a dead end. At the end of this road was a house, and a yard. Could her humans be here? Or should she go back and take the road to the right? [[Walk to the house]] [[Go back and take the road to the right]]Yda took the road that went right. She walked and walked for what felt like ages, until she came upon the parking lot of a store. [[Walk to the parking lot]]Yda walked to the house. She had never been here, but perhaps her humans were friends with the owners? She intended to find out. [[Go to the door and bark]] [[Go around to the back yard]]Yda went back to the fork, and took the road that went right this time. She walked and walked for what felt like ages, until she came upon the parking lot of a store. [[Walk to the parking lot]]Yda walked up to the front door and barked loudly. After a while, a human she had never met came to the door. "Well, hello little one!" The human said. "Are you lost? Come here, and let's have a look at you." The human held out a large treat, in the shape of a bone. [[Accept the treat]] [[Accept the treat and run]] [[Run away and go to the back yard|Go around to the back yard]] Yda went to the back yard. She planned to look in through the window to see if her humans were there, but alas, the universe had other plans. In this back yard stood a massive dog, with angry eyes and shining teeth. [[Run away]] [[Assume the Play position]]Yda wagged her tail, walked up to the human and accepted the treat. To her surprise, the human quickly grabbed her collar, and snapped a leash to it. Well, that wasn't very conducive to finding her humans! She was brought into the human's home and tied to a post for what felt like ages. At some point, the human looked at the tag on her collar, and went to another room to talk on the phone. After running through all the worst case scenerios regarding the fact that she will never see her humans again, Yda's ears perked up when she heard the doorbell ring. The strange human went to the door and pulled it open. Yda couldn't believe her eyes, it was her humans at the door! She stood up and wagged her tail, so unbelievably relieved to see them alive and well. "Yda, you ridiculous dog!" One of her humans said as they came over and clipped on her leash. "How did you get here?" Yda only wagged her tail with joy in response. All that mattered was that she was reunited with her humans. They brought her to the car, and the three of them went home, hapilly ever after. Until the next time her humans left without her. The endYda walked up and accepted the treat. Suddenly, the human moved to grab her collar, but Yda was too quick! She dodged the hand, and ran away. Chewing the treat, she had a decision to make. [[Go around to the back yard]] [[Go back and take the road to the right]] Yda decided not to take any chances with the dog, and ran back to the road. [[Go back and take the road to the right]] Yda dropped down to the play position, wagging her tail. The other dog, however, did not seem to be the playing type, and lunged for her! [[Run away!]]Yda bolted, the angry dog in hot pursuit. She had never run so fast in her life. The other dog nearly had her, but as she ran past the yard line, the other dog yelped in pain and stopped in its tracks. Yda glanced back; it seems the other dog had a collar attached to an electric fence! She was safe. [[Go back and take the road to the right]] Yda walked into the parking lot. It wasn't very busy, but there were quite a few cars parked here. At the head of the parking lot was a store that people were going in and out of. [[Search the parking lot]] [[Go to the store]]Yda wandered through the parking lot, glancing at each and every car. Suddenly, she couldn't believe her eyes! There it was, her humans' car! The one that was missing from the driveway! That had to mean her humans were here, in the store! [[Go to the store]] Yda walked over to the store. The door was automatic; something she was afraid of. Doors shouldn't move by themselves! [[Sit and wait outside]] [[Brave the door]]Yda decided the door was far too scary, and opted to sit outside of it. A few people stopped to pet her as they left the store, which she gladly accepted; but she anxiously wondered if her humans would ever return. After what felt like ages, while she was drifting off into a nap, Yda was startled by a familiar voice, "Yda! What on earth are you doing here?" Yda bolted up, wagging her tail when she recognized her humans. They were okay! They were here! They didn't seem very happy to find her here, but she didn't care. She was happy to see them. All that mattered was that she was reunited with her humans. They brought her to the car, and the three of them went home, hapilly ever after. Until the next time her humans left without her. The endYda took a breath and decided to brave the scary door. She walked over to it, and it immediately responded to her movement by opening wide. She always hated walking through these, afraid they might close and cut her in half; but she ran through before it had a chance. Inside the store, her nails clicked on the linoleum. A few humans gave her curious glances, but left her to her devices. [[Search the aisles on the left]] [[Search the aisles on the right]]Yda headed left, and glanced down each aisle as she went. Eventually, she came across an aisle with what appeared to be a spill. [[Examine the spill]] [[Continue on]] [[Go back]]Yda headed right, and glanced down each aisle as she went. Eventually, she came upon an aisle where a young human was playing with a toy. [[Greet the young human]] [[Continue on|Continue on2]] [[Go back]] Yda trotted up to the spill, and sniffed it. To her delight, it smelled like apple juice! [[Lick it]] [[Continue on]] [[Go back]] Yda was starting to lose hope as she searched the aisles. But to her delight, she finally spotted her humans in the last one! They were pushing a cart with food inside. They were startled when she ran up to them, wagging her tail. "Yda, you ridiculous dog! What on earth are you doing here?" One of them asked. After quite a bit of scolding, Yda's humans finally clipped a leash to her collar, went to check out, and then they all went back to the car together. They seemed disgruntled, but Yda didn't care. She was happy to see them. All that mattered was that she was reunited with her humans. They brought her to the car, and the three of them went home, hapilly ever after. Until the next time her humans left without her. The endYda went back to the front of the store. [[Search the aisles on the left]] [[Search the aisles on the right]] Yda walked up to the young human. They seemed delighted to see her, and offered her their toy. She took it gently, shaking it around a bit before offering it back. They played for a little while before Yda decided she should go back to searching for her own humans. [[Continue on|Continue on2]] [[Go back]] Yda continued on, searching all the aisles. Eventually, she came upon a dead end. Her humans were nowhere in sight. [[Go back]] Yda started licking up the apple juice. She was so distracted by the treat, that she did not notice the strange human walking up to her. When the human yelled, she startled, and bolted. She ran away from the angry human, and down the hall to the left. Suddenly, to her delight, she finally spotted her humans in the last aisle! They were pushing a cart with food inside. They were startled when she ran up to them, wagging her tail. "Yda, you ridiculous dog! What on earth are you doing here?" One of them asked. After quite a bit of scolding, and apologizing to the other angry human, Yda's humans finally clipped a leash to her collar, went to check out, and then they all went back to the car together. They seemed disgruntled, but Yda didn't care. She was happy to see them. All that mattered was that she was reunited with her humans.
